Moreton Bay has taken a leap into the future of entertainment with the recent opening of Arena 21’s new virtual reality (VR) attraction in Lawnton. This high-tech, family-friendly experience transports people of all ages into alternate worlds filled with fascinating creatures like aliens and zombies.
Formerly known as Drone Games, Arena 21 is the brainchild of Darren Stone and his future son-in-law Wes Brughuis. The duo spent seven months working to launch the innovative virtual reality arena in partnership with The Park Playground, a renowned Belgian virtual reality company. Arena 21 has now become The Park Playground’s first Australian venue.
“We are really excited to have brought virtual reality to the Moreton Bay community,” Darren shared. “Our aim was to introduce a wide range of new experiences for families to enjoy right here in their own backyard, eliminating the need to travel into Brisbane.”
Arena 21 aims to make virtual reality accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability. Players don a pair of headset goggles and freely roam within a purpose-built arena, completely immersed in their computer-generated surroundings.
“Virtual reality has come such a long way in a short amount of time,” Wes explains. The technology at Arena 21 is a testament to this evolution. Gone are the days of cumbersome backpacks and wired connections to headsets. The entire VR experience at Arena 21 is 100% mobile, run through Wi-Fi, with experiences stored in the cloud and streamed directly to the headset.
In addition to the VR experiences, visitors can continue to enjoy the drone arena, which is located adjacent to the virtual reality arena.
Bookings are available via the Arena 21 website, where players can choose the VR experience they’d like to try. The arena accommodates up to eight players at one time.
Arena 21, located at Unit 21/31/79 Paisley Dr, Lawnton, invites you to embrace the future of entertainment right in your own backyard. Don’t miss out on the excitement and adventure that this new-age attraction has to offer!
