Dubai Smashes Tourism Records, Welcomes 17.15 Million Visitors in 2023

The latest figures, released by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), underscore Dubai’s relentless appeal and its strategic success in boosting its tourism landscape.

The city’s tourism sector’s performance has once again secured its position as the No.1 global destination, taking out the top spot for an unprecedented third consecutive year in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2024. This accolade is a testament to Dubai’s vibrant mix of luxury and accessibility, offering a rich array of hotels, restaurants, attractions, and cultural sites that pay tribute to the emirate’s heritage. Dubai’s capacity to cater to a broad range of travellers, coupled with its year-round calendar of events, has solidified its reputation as a favourite among global visitors.

Regional Contributions and Expanding Luxury Hotels

A detailed breakdown of tourist arrivals highlights Dubai’s attraction across various markets, with significant input from the GCC, MENA, Western Europe, South Asia, and other regions. The emirate’s hospitality sector is also on a growth spurt, with notable additions like Atlantis The Royal and the upcoming Mama Shelter Dubai, SIRO One Za’abeel, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, and The Lana, further boosting Dubai’s luxury hotel portfolio.
