It started sensibly.
A quick stop at Tamborine Mountain Distillery for a $10 tasting. Sample a few spirits, have a look around, move on.
That wasn’t the plan for long.
Somewhere between the stories, the laughs and the easy banter behind the bar, we stayed. One espresso martini appeared. Then a whisky on the rocks. The idea of a quick visit quietly disappeared.
The drinks were excellent. Balanced, smooth, and clearly made by people who care. But what really shifted things was the atmosphere. It didn’t feel rushed or transactional. It felt relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely fun. Angie behind the bar made the whole experience feel effortless, like you’d wandered into the right place at the right time.
This wasn’t about ticking something off a list. It was about enjoying where we were and letting the afternoon go where it wanted to.
Would we go out of our way for it again.
Absolutely.
